Protect your homes

Hertfordshire Constabulary are currently investigating three burglaries that occurred in Hartwell Gardens, Townsend Lane and Orchard Avenue in Harpenden over the past few weeks. These appear to be opportunist thieves, targeting homes for items including jewellery and valuables. These have all targeted the rear of properties as an entry point. To help reduce the chance of becoming a victim, please consider the following crime prevention measures: Protect Your Home • Always make sure all doors and windows are locked when you go out. • For PVCu doors, lift the handle and use the key to double lock. • Use timer or sensor activated lights to make your home look occupied. • Consider installing a video doorbell, internal cameras, and/or a monitored alarm system. • Ask trusted neighbours to keep an eye on your property if you’re away.
